Hip Replacement

Hip replacement surgery is one of the most successful operations in all of medicine.  Since first performed in 1960, improvements in joint replacement surgical techniques and technology have greatly increased the effectiveness of total hip replacement.  According to the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality, more than 300,000 total hip replacements are performed each year in the United States.

Dr. Doane performs routine total hip replacements, hip arthroscopy, as well as complex hip fractures.  Additionally, he treats non-operative hip pain, such as arthritis, bursitis, and muscle strains.

Hip Fractures

Hip fractures are a serious hip problem common among elderly men and women who have fallen or have sustained a direct injury to the hip.  People who suffer from osteoporosis are at a higher risk for hip fractures.  Each year, at least 250,000 elderly people are hospitalized for hip fractures.
