About Dr. Doane
Dr. Doane graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Biomedical Engineering option and master degrees in Engineering Mechanical/Biomechanics. He then attended Wayne State University Medical school and graduated summa cum laude in 1994. Dr. Doane completed his orthopedic residency at Wayne State/Detroit Medical Center in 1999. He then completed a shoulder fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX, in 2000. Fellowship training typically involves 1 year additional training for specializing in a certain area, above and beyond the standard 5-year residency.
Dr. Doane specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and shoulder replacement, as well as minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, sports-related injuries, and all other general orthopedic needs.
Dr. Doane was first in the Jackson area to perform arthroscopic acromioplasties, distal clavicle excisions, rotator cuff repairs, bankart/labrum repairs, complex shoulder surgeries such as reverse total shoulder arthroplasties, revisions of shoulder placements, and complex tendon transfers for rotator cuff deficiency. Dr. Doane is well trained in Orthopedic Trauma care and is well-skilled to handle even the most difficult orthopedic injuries. Dr. Doane is now performing hip arthroscopy.
